PrimeLock and PrimeClassic, Makers of Innovative Wood Trim, Announce Rebranding, Setting the Stage for Expansion and Growth in 2025

PrimeLock and PrimeClassic, leading brands of wood trim, siding, patterns, and mouldings, are proud to announce their official rebranding to Princeton Fine Wood. This strategic change represents the company’s focus on manufacturing fine wood products through its use of Eastern White Pine, and its proprietary process and technology. It also marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution, expansion, and focus on resolving the challenges of traditional wood trim.

Princeton Fine Wood’s parent company, Matra Group, has been manufacturing precision wood products for more than 25 years, most recently under the PrimeLock and PrimeClassic brand names. However, as the brands have grown and diversified, the names no longer fully represent their vision and ambitions. With a goal to further expand into the U.S. market, Princeton Fine Wood's new name represents its focus on creating exceptional interior and exterior wood products that challenge the traditional use of wood trim and capture the history of wood as a fundamental building material.

“Our rebranding to Princeton Fine Wood is more than just a name change,” said Jordan McKay, Director of Marketing for Matra Group. “It’s a reflection of our growth, our vision, and our dedication to delivering innovative solutions to our customers. It signifies a new era for our team, partners, and customers, an evolution in which we redefine wood trim and continue to push the boundaries of innovation.”

As part of the rebranding, Princeton Fine Wood has launched a new logo, tagline, and website (princetonfinewood.com), designed to communicate its modern identity, forward-thinking approach, and unique uses of Eastern White Pine. While the look and feel of the brand are changing, the company’s commitment to culture, high-quality service, sustainability, partnership, and next-generation manufacturing remains the same.

Princeton Fine Wood products are currently available for purchase through PFP Distribution, formerly known as Princeton Forest Products, which also rebranded in 2024. The company is set to expand to new markets and grow its distribution network in 2025.

“This name change embodies our dedication to growth, sustainability, and craftsmanship,” said Jean-Francois Drouin, Co-President of Matra Group. “It positions us to expand into new markets and share our precise, rot-resistant, and dimensionally stable wood product with the world.”
