Tokushima Prefecture will hold the “International Consumer’s Symposium in Tokushima” on Friday, June 6. Gathering consumer leaders from Japan and overseas, and the youth who will lead the next generation, this symposium will feature lively discussions on initiatives that can be passed on to the future, including “promotion of ethical consumption,” such as reducing food waste and promoting local production and consumption.

Under the theme of “Consumer Empowerment in the Digital Age,” Tokushima Prefecture will host the “Tokushima International Consumer’s Forum 2023” to promote information sharing and collaboration among domestic and international consumer policy experts, university students from within Tokushima Prefecture and the ASEAN region, and others, as they exchange views on consumer risks and countermeasures brought about by the “Progress of Digitalization.”

The Consumer Policy Department of the Tokushima Prefectural Government is currently promoting initiatives for consumer administration and education in cooperation with the Consumer Affairs Agency’s Strategic Headquarters for Frontiers of Consumer Policy, a national agency established in Tokushima Prefecture as Japan's hub for policy development and international operations in consumer administration.
